The rules must be read and understood by all players joining The Land. It is important to understand that we've tried to detail as much as possible each of the rules with examples but it is impossible to cover the entire scope of every situation that might happen in a world where creativity has no limits. The rules do not come with any punishment scales as each situation is unique : a powergaming action can be a genuine mistake or very malicious, a common courtesy rule break can be a first-time and unique event or a 5th time, etc. Without the need to assess and analyze each situation, we wouldn't even need administrators to handle your reports, AI bots could do it better.
However, since the discretion given to each punishment can be variable based on the human who has taken the decision, you're always able to staff report the administrator if you think that your situation has been wrongly judged. Please attempt to make contact with the administrator themselves to appeal a decision they've made prior to making a staff report where possible.
Each rule will have a set of examples listed, these may be based on common rulebreaks and/or general examples to help understand the rule, but these examples are not an exhaustive and conclusive list, they are only examples of what would be in breach of the rule. If you are ever unsure about a rule in-game, you can always use /helpme to contact a staff member, or the help channels in the Discord.
1) Common Courtesy
While out of character, it is expected of you to remain respectful and calm towards others, every player should feel welcome in the community no matter what their background is. Any form of severe OOC discrimination is forbidden and may result in a community ban.
You must always follow an administrator's instructions even if you disagree with the decision, if you feel an admin is making the wrong decision, that decision can be reviewed by a member of Staff Management through a staff report.
You're expected to be roleplaying at all times, failing to roleplay a situation is strictly forbidden. If a player breaks the rule during the situation you must finish the roleplay and report later, or as soon as possible while roleplaying. You must also roleplay any injuries that occur to your character or any accidents that happen when driving, even if you are alone and believe no one saw.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You insult another player through /pm or /b.
- You spam in any capacity.
- You disregard an administrator's decision.
- You fail to roleplay a car crash unless it was blatantly caused due to desync.
- If all involved parties (including witnesses) agree to void the crash, they may do so if desync was involved without administrator involvement.
- If anyone involved does not want to void the crash, they must /report for the crash to be voided.
- You leave the server intentionally to avoid roleplay or consequences of any kind.
- You must remain in-game for at least 30 minutes after an active roleplay situation as people may be looking for your character, unless all parties are in agreement you may log off.
- You take advantage of an OOC issue to give yourself an advantage in an IC situation (stealing a vehicle from a player whose game crashed, initiating a shootout when a player involved crashed, driving off from a traffic stop when a law enforcement officer disconnects, waiting for someone to type to get an IC advantage).
- You go AFK during active roleplay situations, or in a public place.
- You ignore an employee at an open business and just use the script to buy something, customize your character or customize your vehicle. You must roleplay with an employee if they are present, vehicle modding must always be roleplayed in full.
- You make a hoax 911 call that massively disrupts roleplay, e.g. a bomb threat / fake terrorist attack. These may be approved via /report by admin discretion for extremely good reasoning to disrupt roleplay IC.
Players are expected to be respectful at all times, regardless of whether it is within a The Land Discord or an external Discord, if it relates to The Land, it should be respectful. Toxicity towards other players as a result of IC conflicts counts as an egregious metagaming and common courtesy violation. If players are toxic towards others in PMs, external Discords, or group chats, and the content is in relation to, or as a result, of situations from The , it can be punishable by server administration.
2) Powergaming
You may not perform actions which would not be possible in real life, this is not limited to roleplay through /me. You are not allowed to force actions upon another player. You are not allowed to roleplay a non-player character.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You roleplay picking up a truck.
- You jump from a height and do not roleplay the consequences of your fall.
- You roleplay shooting a player with the result of the player ending up dead in the process.
- You loot a stash without properly roleplaying its description or searching for the stash.
- You modify a vehicle using the garage script and fail to roleplay it in full along with the mechanic performing the work.
- You roleplay items are inside your car when you have not put them scriptly into the vehicle, what's on you is on you.
- Initiating a script action without any roleplay against another player (e.g stealing a vehicle without roleplaying it first, initiating a fight/brawl without roleplaying the initiation), once the action has been roleplayed it may continue scriptly by the initiating player.
- E.G, if you wish to attack another character, you would need to roleplay your attempt at the attack and then you may continue through the script.
Script actions that automatically print a roleplay line through /ame do not need to be re-roleplayed unless otherwise stated in the rules (e.g. rule 15, scrolling weapons). - Tackling a player scriptly must be roleplayed after the action has been done (E.G. your character would be on the floor with them), immediately melee attacking a character on the floor will be considered powergaming without supporting roleplay.
- E.G, if you wish to attack another character, you would need to roleplay your attempt at the attack and then you may continue through the script.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You draw a gun to rob someone in an area that players are likely to frequent (a busy street, nearby an open business) AND you do not roleplay the imminent danger of being caught, or the risk of witnesses.
- You engage in GTA:O style driving with unrealistic stunts and/or disregard realistic physics rather than in-game physics.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You loot characters after a shootout in a public space.
- You loot characters before tending to injuries sustained.
- You return to a scene to loot someone after fleeing.
- Looting bodies while Law Enforcement is present.
- Looting without roleplay.
- Exception: Government buildings as well as server-owned stores (e.g gas stations, 24/7s, clothing stores) all have cameras by default, which law enforcement agencies have the capacity of acquiring. This is in force regardless of whether they are visible or not.
If an individual is not using /mask, they are liable to being identified by players if realistically able to do so. CCTVs, however, are able to identify players if they are not using /mask.
If gloves are being used in-character, they must be equipped with /gloves (or using a preset torso with gloves), if the command is not used, any fingerprints found will be allowed to be taken in-character. This is regardless of whether roleplay was done before or after about wearing gloves, the command must be used.
2.1) Property Powergaming
- Property safes must be visible at all times, you cannot hide them behind static furniture (e.g walls with no door, under the floor, above the roof of the property).
- Properties cannot have "secret rooms" that cannot be accessed without a door (e.g you cannot have a secret sliding wall that leads behind the house/into the foundation of the house to hide/store items)
2.2) Frisk & Robbery Powergaming
Victims of a robbery are expected to roleplay what their robber would find based on the descriptions of the search performed on them accordingly, this should be done via a /do prior to /steal or /frisk being used. Only at the end of the roleplay surrounding the robbery, once the robber is done with roleplaying taking what they can take and finished with the presented search, is when the victim must /arob upon request of the robber. This marks the conclusion of the search, anything not found within the areas searched cannot be further searched for, but may be clarified as whether it was found in the areas searched via /do.
- These following rules go forth for Law Enforcement as-well. Those being frisked by Law Enforcement, may only ask and present the command of /frisk after the RP is said and done.
- You are expected to do thorough /me's of where exactly you are searching on the body of the person. You cannot make one long /me to search everywhere, it needs to be broken up and then asked in a /do if any items could be found, this /do can be after each question or at the end of the search.
Items hidden in unconventional locations must have been roleplayed beforehand. Items are assumed to be in realistic, default locations unless explicitly roleplayed otherwise (e.g. gun in waistband, wallet in pocket).
- Players are recommended to screenshot their RP of storing items in such a manner. In the event of a report during a frisk/mugging, players are expected to continue roleplaying. The player being searched will retain possession of any disputed items until an administrator can resolve the situation. If a player is found to have failed to roleplay or lied about it, punishment will be issued and the item given to the other player.
2.3) Injuries Powergaming
- If you are placed in the wounded mode without a head shot, you can be saved if you receive sufficient medical attention in a reasonable time.
- If you are forced into the death mode but you were able to receive medical attention and/or get to hospital in a reasonable time you may /report for an administrator to rule whether you survive or not.
- If you are placed in the wounded mode with a head shot, you will be forced to be PK'd.
- If you are placed in the death mode with any injuries, you are PK'd.
- If you are in neither the wounded nor death mode and you are roleplaying fatal injuries, you will be CK'd at admin discretion.
2.4) High-risk Situations
If a player decides to "take their chances" in such a situation (e.g. scrolling a weapon while outnumbered, suicide by cop, etc.), they must accept that if the risk does not pay off and they end up dead, their character will most likely face a character kill with no chance of appeal. This is up to the handling administrator's decision.
3) Metagaming
Providing in-character (IC) information to another player using out-of-character (OOC) means. Providing OOC information to another player using IC means. Using OOC means to find in-character information. Using OOC communication and/or information to influence anything in-character.
All characters you create cannot interact with each other in any way. You may not use a third party to transfer IC information from one of your characters to another one of your characters either. You may not reference any of your other characters.
You may only have one character involved in a particular objective and/or RP scene at the same time.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You and other faction members arrange a drug deal, then you show up on another character.
- You show up to a business you own and spend money.
- You gather information on one character (scouting), and use that information on another character.
- You have multiple characters in one faction without approval from Faction Management.
- You use a channel on Discord for IC information without approval from Faction Management.
- You message a player using /pm or on Discord to pick you up at x location.
- You use VOIP communication (Discord, Teamspeak, Skype etc.) to coordinate during a pursuit or shootout.
- You see the cops outside a friend's house so you PM them on Discord to warn them.
- You PM someone who is masked to find out their real name to get around the point of the /mask system
- You use a platform of any form to communicate in-character information that is not under the control of GTA World.
- You may use Birdy
- You may use LS Chat
- You identify someone purely based off of their nametag, for example identifying through heavily tinted windows when realistically you cannot identify them.
- You slow down near a players or swerve towards them without reason to view nametags.
- You do /do describes "firstname lastname" in any capacity.
- You return to the area of your death (further covered in rule 20) or reinvolve yourself in one of your characters' deaths.
4) Deathmatching
Killing another player without or with poor reason to do so. This also includes you provoking others, followed by performing aggressive actions such as shooting or killing and (or) the provoked party ending up dead.
- You may only run over another player if a character's life is at risk. This should not be done excessively.
- You may use a vehicle at low speeds (20mph~) to stun (ram) a player on foot or a bike using a door, this must be roleplayed by the player opening the door.
- You shoot at a player because he is black and your character hates people from Afro-American backgrounds.
- You instigate another player repeatedly to spark a shootout with them.
- You shoot at a player because they called the cops on you over a petty crime.
- You shoot at a player during a fist fight to win the fight.
- You kill a character purely for breaking into your vehicle.
4.1) Faction Conflict Rules
Faction Conflict Rules must be abided by at all times by members of factions and are considered an extension of deathmatching rules, they must be read here:
Notes:
- "Serious crime" has no set definition, but typically refers to a serious felony (e.g. does not include simple evading).
- All IC reasons should be based on reasonable assumptions or facts. For example, a player that was stopped for speeding cannot immediately shoot at cops and claim they were afraid of being identified, when no questioning relating to that crime had taken place yet.
- Some form of interaction/roleplay must take place prior to shooting at cops. A player should not simply scroll their weapon and shoot with no roleplay on the first ever interaction with police.
5) Character Customization
Players must create a realistic character using the customization system. Admins may request a player to change their character's customization if they deem it unfit for the server environment.
- Characters must dress appropriately for the weather, or at least roleplay the downsides of wearing inappropriate clothes. The current weather can be seen by using the /weather command.
- Players must only obstruct their faces when they have an in-character reason to do so and it makes sense to have their face obstructed where they are.
- Using /mask to hide your player's name tag behind a mask ID may only be done when the character's face is properly obstructed. Certain items in the mask store are present for character customization and shouldn't be used to /mask unless there is another object (eg. a motorcycle helmet) present to obstruct the character's face.
- You dress your character to resemble an alien.
- You make your body invisible or intentionally glitched.
- You wear full winter gear at the beach.
- You use client-side mods that do not resemble slots replaced; you will be required to roleplay what is seen on vanilla screens.
As a male or female character, you're free to use the male or female ped from GTA (it doesn't automatically set your gender based from the ped) but :
- You must not have an overtly looking female face unless you have had surgery which should be detailed in your /examine,
- If you're replaying as a male using female ped model, you must describe in your /examine that you are flat chested,
- Appropriate clothing (similar to what a regular woman or man would wear) is required, and regular usage of oversexualized clothing in public places are not allowed (same goes for all kind of characters),
- (M) characters are not allowed to roleplay transgender characters or gender change surgeries,
6) Character Rules
When naming your character, you must consider the following;
- names cannot be famous or be similar to a famous person's name;
- names may not be the same as or similar to characters in video games, movies, TV shows or any other form of media;
- names should match the character's background;
- names should exist in the modern day and be reasonably common;
- names should not be comical or reference memes or pop culture;
- names may not contain any special characters, and they must match a Firstname Lastname format; (Hyphens are the only exception)
- names may not be nicknames and should be full names as they would be shown on a government-issued ID;
- names that are gag names such as Ben Dover are not allowed either.
When roleplaying your character, you must consider the following;
- Characters must be at least 15 years old. The only exception to this rule is if you make a character with the intent on getting involved with a gang faction. This is to allow more realistic recruitment for gangs as they typically target teenagers for recruitment. These characters are allowed to be no younger than 13 years old.
- Character descriptions must describe the character's general demeanor and appearance for players involved with roleplay. Character descriptions should not intentionally sexualize the character and should be rather neutral in describing the character. For clarification, this covers the character description script that a player can set using /attributes and another player can view using /examine.
- Each of your characters should be unique from your other characters. Making similar characters that have the same motivations, goals, objectives etc. is forbidden. This is to avoid players name changing to avoid consequences. Switching names between your characters is also forbidden.
- Should a character be CKed or name changed, the character that comes after should have no connection to the previous character. Any character in a faction that is name changed or CKed must follow Faction Management's regulations for returning to the same faction. If a faction has no written agreement with Faction Management, then a returning character should be discussed with Faction Management. The purpose of this rule is to make sure CKs have an impact on factions.
- If you are charged and your case goes to court you may not namechange until two week (14 days) after the completion of your court case. You must also ensure that any asset seizures are complied with before the namechange.
- If you are a witness and/or participant of any kind in a court case, you must not delete the character until the conclusion.
- You may not roleplay a serial killer, terrorist, serial arsonist, human traffickers, cyber terrorist or other extreme motive based criminal without special character permissions.
7) Third Party Modifications & Software
Any type of game modification or software which gives a player any type of advantage over another player is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to binds or hotkeys using programs such as AutoHotkey or macros on a keyboard or mouse.
Client-side modding to give an advantage is also considered a breach of the rule. Client-side modding may only be done for aesthetic purposes and should never be done to change the function of anything in-game. Clothing modifications must resemble the items that have been replaced.
Players are permitted to use a controller to play the game. However, due to the fact that controllers have aim assist they may not be used during shootings. All shooting must be done while playing with mouse and keyboard. Controller usage for driving and flying is acceptable.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You use a vehicle mod to change the handling of a vehicle or change the size to create an advantage.
- You spawn in items.
- You use god mode or giving yourself body armour without in-character access.
- You use keybinds, hotkeys or macros to replace roleplay or give an advantage in a roleplay scene.
- Exception: You are allowed to have a singular roleplay line on the clipboard for any reason.
8) Bug Abuse
Any bugs found out by players are to be reported in the right forum section. Abusing or exploiting features to gain a result that is not intended by the server's script, the FiveM client and/or the game itself is considered to be bug abuse.
Situations that are likely to be bugs should also be reported as they are found. Some examples are finding a property for sale that has a lot of weapons or drugs inside, finding a vehicle that is not available to purchase and finding a way to use certain scripts (such as scripted jobs) more efficiently outside of the intended use. Situations like these should be reported to an admin so it can be investigated before a player interacts with it.
Any bugs discovered by players must be reported on the forums HERE under the correct section or reported in-game for staff input. Players found to be abusing/exploiting bugs in the server's script are liable to be banned. Players who are also aware of the bug but do not report witnessing abuse/exploitation may also be subject to a punishment up to a permanent ban. If you think you have discovered a bug in-game and wish to test it, it may only be done under the supervision of an admin.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You fail to report a bug which results in other players abusing it after.
- You discover a bug that allows you to drive locked vehicles or dealership vehicles, then drive said vehicles around.
- If you find a property for sale that costs less than it should or has the wrong interior, then fail to report it.
- You exploit a reported a bug that allows you to duplicate assets such as weapons and money.
9) Offensive Roleplay
The purpose of this rule is to find a balance between allowing players to be comfortable when playing while still allowing some freedom during roleplay. The roleplay that is restricted under this rule falls under the broad term of "Offensive Roleplay", but it does not mean that any roleplay that offends a player is not allowed.
Offensive Roleplay includes the following;
- Torture.
- Dismemberment
- Graphic description of an injury.
- Sex acts (detailed in Rule 19)
- You have all agreed that you consent for the roleplay to take place, if you do not wish to participate, you must make it known and the roleplay may cease and/or fade to black.
- You must be conducting the roleplay in a private area, or a secluded area that players are not likely to stumble onto it. You may consult an administrator if unsure, as if it is too public you will be liable.
- Players who knowingly enter the area in which it is taking place are assumed to have consented to the roleplay, for example in a strip club.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You torture a player without making sure they are fine with participating in that kind of roleplay.
- You describe a gruesome injury in detail when someone arrives at a scene.
- You roleplay third-base sexually onwards on a busy street.
- Incest.
- Cannibalism.
- Bestiality.
- Necrophilia.
- Pedophilia.
- This also includes direct accusations of pedophilia towards a character.
- Rape/forced third-base onward roleplay is fully forbidden.
- This also includes complaints, allegations, and any of the like when it comes to specifically intercourse rape roleplay. This is to avoid possible scenes where this actually will be claimed to have happened.
10) Robbing and Scamming
Classifications:
- Robbery - holding up a 24/7, a store, something that involves ' of the above. (/report)
- Burglary - breaking and entering and sometimes housebreaking, is illegally entering a building or other areas to commit a crime. (/robhouse)
It is only permitted to /rob or /mug another player for the items they have on themselves at the current time.
You're allowed to mug players anywhere outside city limits (county) except in cities (such as Paleto Bay and Sandy Shores).
If a vehicle is used, it may only be used to travel to and from the general area of a mugging and must be parked a reasonable distance away (one block or more) before the mugging begins, after which all participants must proceed on foot and complete the mugging without any vehicle involvement. The vehicle may only be used afterwards as a means of escape.
Participants should only carry realistic small-arms appropriate to the scale of the mugging; heavy weaponry like rifles and two-handed SMG's are not permitted.
Muggings should only ever involve a maximum of four (4) participants, though using less people is more realistic and strongly encouraged.
Private gambling games conducted outside a legal business are conducted at the player's risk; they may be mugged even if the location is outside a designated mugging zone.
Players may not rob/force other players to withdraw money from the bank or an ATM. Debit cards/credit cards also fall into this subject.
It is forbidden to mug anyone when:
- you've baited the victim using the advertisement script as either the buyer or seller;
- you're not using /rob to force the other party to show their items;
- you mug someone for $110,000 in cash value
- you may /report to perform robberies on situations involving the previous bullet points.
- you've baited the victim using the taxi script or the food delivery script as driver or requester;
- you've baited the victim using the advertisement script as either the buyer or seller;
- you're not using /rob to force the other party to show their items;
- you mug someone for $110,000 in cash value
- you may /report to perform robberies on situations involving the previous bullet points.
Robbing a business must be approved via /report with a description of what is attempting to be robbed, this is for in-the-moment robberies that do not have excessive previous planning, e.g. /report We are a group of punks attempting to make some quick money, we want to try and stick up the open Vinewood 24/7 to rob the cash register.
Shoplifting without the demand of any items or cash, and purely for roleplay, does not require admin permission.
Robbing a business also falls under the stash-info rule. However, any cash left in the "cashbox" will now represent the cash register. Players may steal a cash register and whatever money within the "cashbox" will be issued to the robber.
You must /report to rob the following businesses:
- Default server blip marked businesses; 24/7s, gas stations, barbers, tattoo studios.
- Player-marked businesses; cafés, bakeries, small bars, florists, mini-marts, arcades.
- Any gambling-oriented business.
- Any weapon-oriented business.
- Any high-end business, e.g: a jewellery store.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You attempt to hold up a 24/7 or café without admin approval.
- You attempt to rob any open business without admin approval.
You may use /breakin to rob any property, this submits a request to the administration team which you should include a brief description of your reasons. /breakin is accepted by administrators only if they have the time for it as it requires 20 minutes of active monitoring, which might be difficult to do during peak hours.
- Anything that is not defined within /stashinfo can be described as anywhere by the handling administrator, e.g. in plain view on a table. This includes money and items alike.
- If you have a key to a property that is not yours, and you are a tenant, you must still submit a breakin request to roleplay searching and taking items that are not yours. Motels are not included under this rule, leave items in a motel at your own risk as they can be taken by anyone.
- You enter an open house and forcing the occupants inside to comply with a burglary of their house or safe without an approved /breakin request, you may rob the occupants of the property only.
- You get a key to a property and clearing out the property inventory without an approved /breakin request;
- You submit multiple /breakin requests for the same property or to get a faster response, this can result in a ban from breakins.
It is only permitted to scam another player for a maximum of $75,000. It is not allowed to scam properties. These include and are limited to vehicles and real estate, however temporary /vdup vehicle theft does not count as a scam. There are no limitations on drug and weapon scams, or on loans (a name-change / CK during an active loan will lead to your money being removed and given back to the loan contract owner). This applies to both scamming a player for a drugs or weapons and for scamming a player for money off a drug or weapon scam.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You offer to "look after" a vehicle and having it sold to you and refusing to return it when asked;
- You trick someone into selling their property to you instead of giving you keys;
- You sell a house to someone and not you don't give them the attached garage.
Chaining robberies on your character unless adequately roleplayed will be considered unrealistic and a poor portrayal of a character.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You travel door to door to each house and/or vehicle to check if it is unlocked is considered chain robbing without roleplay.
- You repeatedly mug people in a short time frame without roleplaying the effects/reasons why.
- Unrealistic portrayal of robberies and characters which exist only to conduct robberies is bannable, for example:
- You drive into the county as a gang member in South Central to conduct a robbery in Paleto Bay for no sensible IC reason (e.g. your path has not realistically led you to Paleto Bay for any discernable reason, this would be a significant drive on an IC basis);
- You're driving on a dirt bike with masks, not communicating, but pulling up to any pedestrian to conduct a gun-point robbery at drive-by;
- You're chaining robberies unrealistically, or unrealistic portrayal of a crime spree;
- You move from robbery to robbery and demanding victims move as quickly as possible, or clearly conducting robberies simply to gain OOC assets rather than for roleplay;
- You're conducting robberies with overuse of force (such as 4 assault rifles) or for the purpose of provoking conflict (seeking to rob people in a gang neighborhood for an excuse to shoot them);
- You attempting to kidnap someone for the sole purpose of mugging them
11) Property Destruction
Semi-permanent destruction of another player's property requires approval from an in-game administrator. This only applies to real estate such as apartments, houses and businesses.
You do not need permission to minorly vandalize a property through graffiti or minor damage to the exterior/interior.
Examples of breaking this rule without administrator oversight:
- You leave an information marker that a property has been burned down.
- You leave an information marker that a property has been crashed through by a truck.
12) Anti-Crime Zones
In order to promote a more realistic environment, several parts of the map will have the level of crime in them restricted. These areas would realistically have a high police or security presence (eg. active patrol stations, airports, the subway system), heavily populated and covered by CCTV (the downtown area and tourist areas) and high levels of traffic (major intersections and highways).
Note: For the purposes of this rule, role-play is considered as "initiated" when the victim could reasonably be aware of the attacker's presence or starts reacting to it. Once this occurs, the victim cannot intentionally go to a No Crime Zone and expect protection via the rules.
Definition of Zones
- No Crime Zone — any area in which crime is forbidden no matter what.
- Restricted Crime Zone— any area where mugging or asportation (transporting a person from a location to mug them) cannot occur without clear permission being given by an admin beforehand. Other crimes in these areas, particularly crime that grabs attention such as shooting, are held to a higher standard. e.g; the burden is on the person deciding to shoot to prove that the situation could not have been done in a more secure location, or that the situation was pressing enough that it demanded immediate action. No other crimes are limited within this zone.
- Restricted Crime Zones do not apply to scripted illegal factions with a historical claim to an area, such as a gang operating within their own neighborhood or neighborhoods they would realistically operate in based on their real life equivalent and in-character development. This should not be done excessively, however.
- Neutral Zone — any area not covered by an anti-crime zone definition.
- airports and airfields;
- government buildings, such as the State Capitol, city halls and hospitals (medical centers not included), bus depot in Mission Row;
- banks, ATMs not included;
- buildings belonging to law enforcement agencies, such as their headquarters, patrol stations, jails (see jail rules), Bolingbroke Prison (which is considered active IC) and training facilities;
- Los Santos Fire Department buildings, such as their fire stations, headquarters, lifeguard tower and training facilities;
- NPC dealerships that are scripted in where you can buy cars brand new (player owned dealerships require admin permission to commit crime at) & NPC vehicle modification garage;
- customization areas, such as clothing stores and barber shops;
Restricted Crime Zones are as follows:
- tourist areas which include Vinewood Boulevard, Galileo Observatory (including the parking area), the Vespucci Beach promenade (the paved area with storefronts that run the length of the beach) and the Kortz Center;
- the University of San Andreas, Los Santos (ULSA) & Richman Hotel;
- Downtown Los Santos (Pillbox Hill and Legion Square), with the border defined as east of the La Puerta Freeway, south of the Del Perro Freeway, north of Adams Apple Boulevard and west of Strawberry Avenue (alleyways and other discreet locations are not counted);
- all freeways and highways, including the on-ramps and off-ramps, not including under them;
- the immediate area and parking lots of gun stores, regardless of them being open or not;
- Portola Drive and Little Portola (the pedestrianized zone where the single-player jewel heist occurs);
- the entire dock/port area (Elysian Island/Terminal);
- beaches connected to populated areas as well as their piers, parking areas and recreational areas (tennis courts, workout areas and skateboarding areas). This rule includes Vespucci Beach, Del Perro Beach, Chumash, Paleto Bay Beach (the border is in line with the town itself at the western-most point and ends where the beach ends on the east side). Other beaches are considered too remote and crime may freely occur there;
- Note: These areas only restrict muggings or kidnappings without prior admin approval via /report, IC justification is required and will be asked for. Some areas require a lot more justification than others. Players who are discreet and creative are a lot more likely to be able to do more crime in Restricted Crime Zones. The intent of the rule is to prevent blatantly obvious crime from occurring on a regular basis. Players are also more likely to receive permission if they are open to facing additional consequences such as allowing investigators to have CCTV footage of the incident occurring despite no cameras being scripted.
- Palmer-Taylor Power Station.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You initiate any situation within a neutral zone and attempting to flee into an anti-crime zone and expect protection or for the situation to cease, anti-crime zones do not protect on-going scenarios;
- You park outside an ammunation and wait for people to purchase PF guns to mug them;
- You attempt to hijack a vehicle in front of a police station without admin approval;
- You attempt to mug someone at the Los Santos International Airport or Elysian Island ports;
- You attempt to kidnap someone within a subway station;
- You attempt to mug someone at any beach within city limits.
13) Abusing a Purchase Firearm License (PF License)
Admins stay out of the way of the distribution of legal firearms or ammunition unless one of the following happens:
- a player makes a character just to sell PF weapons, but does nothing else on that character;
- a member of an illegal organization uses PF weapons to supply their group rather than making IC contacts for illegal weapons;
- the sale of PF weapons (or weapons in general) has OOC involvement, rather than being a strictly IC process.
- the sale of PF weapons happens without FM approval for your character to actively use the license for the sale/providing of weaponry to others.
- This is to avoid the PF license abuse and this being used as a get-around for the weapon supplier role. You will now need official FM approval if your PF weapons are being sold or handed off willingly.
14) Real World Trading / OOC Asset Transfers
Real World Trading is defined as trading anything with value outside of the IC environment in-game for anything of value in-game. This is not allowed under any circumstances.
- You must have IC reasoning to trade anything in-character to match the value and importance of the item being traded.
- You must not use donator features to make IC money (exceptions are furniture slots and /bad).
- Mappers can be contacted OOC for mapping projects and paid IC money for the projects. This is the one exception to the rule as the logistics behind organizing a full interior change IC (which would require a design company, a construction company with electricians, plumbers etc.) is too large for a simple task such as mapping.
Examples of breaking this rule:
- You sell firearms without an established IC relationship, or after being paid real-world money for the guns in-character.
- You give away your car to your OOC friend because they like it.
- You sell a property to your OOC friend for less money.
- You transfer any items/cash/assets to another one of your characters.
- You must have an approved asset transfer to move anything between characters.
- You aid another character to transfer items/cash/assets to one of their other characters.
- You transfer stockpiled weapons/narcotics to a friend to help start their new faction.
- You set up an OOC transfer to appear legitimate via IC means.
- You pay someone real-world cash for GTA World money.
- You give all your assets or money away because you're name-changing, CKing or leaving the server.
15) Scrolling Weapons
It is allowed to scroll weapons without roleplay for the following weapons:
- Small melee weapons. (Knife, Hammer, Bottle, Dagger, KnuckleDuster, SwitchBlade, Flashlight)
- Small handguns. (Pistol, CombatPistol, Pistol50, SNSPistol, HeavyPistol, VintagePistol, Revolver, APPistol, StunGun, FlareGun, Glock, Sig Sauer, M&P 9 Pistols.)
- Small thrown weapons. (Grenade, SmokeGrenade, BZGas, Molotov, Flare)
- Other small guns that can be concealed easier on your body. (MachinePistol, MiniSMG, MicroSMG)
- If you're actively being the target of shots in a firefight, pursuit, driveby, or the like, you may directly scroll your weapon without writing out the required /me roleplay line.
- Larger melee weapons that would be harder to conceal on your body. (Machete, Fire Axe, Crowbar, Battle Axe, Hatchet, Golf Club)
- Scrolling a gun in a vehicle will require roleplay regardless of the weapon, this due to the lack of animations in these situations.
- This also goes for immediately scrolling your weapon after exiting a vehicle, effectively avoiding the animation in the same way. This will require roleplay in the same way as it would within the vehicle.
- CLARIFICATION: This means when you scroll the gun either within the vehicle, or when doing the exiting animation of the vehicle. As this means the animations overlap and you skip the animation of drawing a gun, it also at times bypasses the /ame that comes up. You're free to scroll it once the animation has played out.
- Roleplay is required to describe shooting from the vehicle, the roleplay cannot only be a gun present on a lap before a shootout. This means that when engaging in a hit or an attack of any kind, the roleplay should be done just before opening fire on each character's actions. The only time this does not apply is when the occupants of the vehicle take fire against them BEFORE opening fire or aiming themselves.
- This also goes for immediately scrolling your weapon after exiting a vehicle, effectively avoiding the animation in the same way. This will require roleplay in the same way as it would within the vehicle.
- Larger caliber and sized weapons such as rifles and shotguns will require roleplay before being scrolled. (PumpShotgun, SawnOffShotgun, DoubleBarrelShotgun, Musket/HuntingRifle, CompactRifle, Assault-/CarbineRifle, SMG, SMGMk2, CarbineRifleMk2 etc.)
- You scroll a Compact Rifle in any situation without roleplay.
- You scroll a Pistol50 while in a vehicle as either the driver or passenger without roleplay.
- You pull a crowbar from your pants and start swinging without roleplay.
16) Business Rules
All rules regarding businesses and properties can be reviewed here; and are official server rules: Property Rules & Regulations
17) Advertisement Rules
The advertisement system exists to facilitate roleplay and the in-character trade of assets, goods and services. Illegal advertisements are forbidden, regardless of how they are worded or disguised.
Regular Advertisements (/ad) are for general advertisements that are not associated with an entity. Examples include the sale of vehicles, properties, legal items, or looking for work.
Company and Business Advertisements (/cad, /cadloc, /bad) may be used by businesses to promote recruitment, announce events, notify the public of openings, or share other business information.
You may NOT use the advertisement system for the following reasons:
- Trade of illegal items (drugs, weapons, jammers, bugs, trackers, etc);
- Using OOC terms such as "maxed out", "fully upgraded", "custom mapped/furnished";
- Gambling & card games, unless a licensed gambling business;
- Escorts & escort services, unless an agency or legal business; and
- Asking for rides.
18) Sexual Roleplay Rules
- Players who are under the age of 18 cannot participate in any form of sexual roleplay (ERP).
- Characters under the age of 18 may engage in age-appropriate romantic roleplay with other characters within a reasonable teenage age range.
- Fade to Black (F2B/FTB) is defined as choosing to skip a roleplay scene as opposed to roleplaying it out in detail. Typically, the involved parties agree on what would have happened between the involved characters in /do and simply move on.
- Sexual roleplay may only happen if all players involved consent to it.
- The roleplay must follow the offensive RP guidelines, it must be done in private areas.
- Any player can ask for the roleplay to stop or can leave it at any time if they wish to.
- Players must inform another player in OOC if they do not want to continue escalation of sexual roleplay, this must be done before a report is submitted as it is up to the players to manage OOC consent. If an OOC withdrawal of consent is ignored, an administrator should be called to step in.
- Any erotic roleplay conducted over phone lines that someone else has access to, such as prison phones, 911 lines, or business hotlines, constitutes public ERP and is subject to punishment.
- Rape roleplay (which includes all the sexual acts defined as rape by US or EU laws, forcing "third base" onwards, aka sexual stimulation touching) is fully forbidden on the server.
- Any forced physical roleplay of a sexual nature, including but not limited to groping, forced kissing, grinding, or simulating sexual assault, is strictly prohibited.
Characters/accounts that exist only for the purposes of engaging in sexual roleplay are forbidden. Every character needs to participate in roleplay outside of sexual activity in order to not be in breach of this rule.
Notes: Sexual roleplay in a public location can be defined as anything from engaging in sexual activity in anywhere that isn't in an interior to engaging in sexual activity in an interior that is easily accessed by several other players (such as a business or property with lots of players renting).
Businesses that have sexual roleplay occurring inside (such as a sex shop or a club with exotic dancers) should be clearly advertised as such in order to warn players of that type of roleplay occurring.
19) Lore and Continuity
In order to create an immersive environment for players to enjoy, the admin team have defined the IC lore and continuity of the world we play in. In the same way other types of RP have their own lore, we have created our own. This rule exists to allow admins to ensure players are sticking to the lore.
- Anyone wishing to take on a GTA lore brand as a faction entity will need approval from LFM/IFM respectively.
- Anyone wishing to use a GTA lore brand name or identity for a business will need approval from Property Management
Please note, the following IRL events are not to be mentioned in-character:
- COVID-19.
- Ukraine-Russia conflict.
- Israel-Palestine conflict.
20) Returning to EP After Injuries/Death
Players who have died and are looking to return to roleplay in the same location or with the same group must wait until the situation that resulted in their death has been concluded.
- You should wait for all emergency services have left and/or any one else involved has concluded roleplay.
- You should not return to a situation and/or area if the direct ramifications of your death/actions are still being dealt with.
- If you are a law enforcement member, you may not return on duty if you've been killed until the initial on-scene investigation has been concluded, and you may not participate in any situation involving your death.
- You must also wait either one full hour or until the roleplay surrounding your injuries are concluded prior to returning to a scene. These guidelines are the bare minimum, and if a character sustains major injuries (ie: four or five gunshots) they are encouraged to wait for a longer period of time.
- Law Enforcement characters should avoid returning to duty immediately after recovering from their injuries and must adhere to the one hour rule to prevent potential interaction with the situation that resulted in their shooting. Those within factions that have standardized "medical leaves" must RP the medical leave time that is presented by the faction. If you request 48 hours of medical leave for example, you shouldn't return three hours later.
